DECEMBER 30, 2007 – “STARTING OUT RIGHT”

 

TEXT: Matthew 6:33-34

 

I.                   (v.33) START OUT RIGHT BY MAKING GOD’S KINGDOM YOUR PRIORITY

 

(Matthew 6:32) “For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.”

(Psalm 63:1) “O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water.”

II.                (v.33) START OUT RIGHT BY DEPENDING UPON GOD’S CARE

III. (v.34) START OUT RIGHT BY NOT WORRYING ABOUT TOMORROW

 

(Matthew 6:33) “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

 

(I Peter 5:7) “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

 

(Matthew 6:34) “Therefore do not worry…”

 

(Philippians 4:6) “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

 

(Proverbs 12:25) “An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up.”

 

(Matthew 6:27)  “An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up.” “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?”
