A Note to Parents
Our desire is to support you in your parenting efforts by ministering to your children. We want to guide them into a personal relationship with Christ by modeling Christ, faithfully teaching God's Word, and nurturing them in God's love. We want to communicate the love of God to children by:

We want to make a difference in the lives of children by reaching out in effective and creative ways that communicate the love of God. At First Church, they'll feel welcomed and loved. It is a privilege to provide the variety of ministries we have, as an encouragement for children to draw close to the Savior.

Children's Life Groups
Children's Life Group Classes are offered for children ages 4 through 6th grade each Sunday morning.  Our first session is for children 1st through 6th grade and starts at 8:30 a.m. The second session is for children ages 4 through kindergarten and starts at 10:30 a.m.   Children are grouped by grade/age levels and meet in smaller classrooms. Life Groups provide a small group environment with a focus on Bible study, Scripture memorization, life application and building relationships. The lessons are designed to reinforce the values of the home, help children know Jesus, and guide them in daily living and growth in spiritual development.

Children's Summer Camp
Each summer we have children's camps at our Nazarene District Campgrounds. These camps are the highlight of the year for many children. They enjoy a great week of fun and exciting activities and experience God in a unique atmosphere away from home. While at camp, they build friendships that last a lifetime.

Sunday Mornings for Grades 1 – 6
          Sunday School – 8:30 a.m.- Ministry Center, 2nd Floor
          Kidz Church – 10:30 a.m. - Ministry Center, 2nd Floor

Sunday School is a chance for children, grades 1 - 6, to worship God, learn basic Bible truths, and meet with children in their own grade level.  We have a large group time and then divide into grade level classes.   Each class has approximately 10 children meeting with a teacher to discuss the lesson of the day.

For January, we are in "Kingdom Tales,"  which takes us right to the throne room of King Earl the Undecided. With each lesson, the king must decide the best way to solve a problem in his kingdom. To do so, the king seeks the counsel of the kingdom's two most trusted advisers. The lessons King Earl, and your children, learn, will help to develop the noble character God wants all of us to have.

In February, we will be welcomed aboard the Steadfast, a deep-sea rescue submarine. Join Captain Sandbar and his loyal first mate, Major Reefrash as they journey to the deepest parts of the ocean. Their mission: rescue a stranded garbage submarine, the Scumscrubber. Join the mission and see how God wants us to live by studying passages from the book of James.

Wednesday Night Adventures with Pastor Chris Sixkiller
Wednesday Nights are a fun filled night for kids 1st thru 6th grades. We have a night full of exciting props, dramatizations, acting, games, and whatever else it takes to make God’s Word real and relevant.

Our Mission: Become all things to all kids so that many will come to know Jesus.
Our Goal: Share Christ creatively, and teach children that God has made them for a purpose and that purpose is for His use.

I believe it is important to share our relationship with Christ as a great and wonderful adventure. I am sure as we all look back upon our journey with Christ, that we can honestly say it has been an adventure.

We recently kicked off our 2010 Adventure with “Huzzah for the King!” It is a wonderful time of learning God's wisdom through the book of Proverbs in a castle setting, with exciting costumes of knights, kings, queens, heralds, jesters, and characters of all sorts. We are examining Godly character traits and learning what it is to live like Christ. Pastor Chris will be giving out the "Contagious Christian Award" at the Royal Ball at the end of our 12 week journey.

For those that would like to know a little more of Pastor Chris’s heart, read further:
It is my passion for Wednesday Nights to not just be another program or another Church day, but Wednesday night is directed at being an outreach. In this outreach time, it is my desire to have children from all walks of life. By “walks of life” I mean those who know they are saved by God’s grace and sacrifice, to those who think they are, those who want to b,e and most of all for those children who really have no idea of Christ the person. How will Wednesday Night Adventures do this? By sharing God’s very real, relevant and new everyday Word. We will share His Word through props, stories, acting, activities, games, and most of all, with a servant’s heart
