Pastor David Grinder
David Grinder was born and raised in Fontana, California. After graduation from Fontana High School, he attended Point Loma Nazarene University, where he double majored in religion and music. During college, he ministered during summers and week-ends as a child evangelist. Upon graduation in 1977, he became the youth pastor at the Bloomington Church of the Nazarene in California. David received an M.A. in Theology from Point Loma University, a Masters of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry also from Fuller Theological Seminary. He was ordained in the Church of the Nazarene in 1981.
David and Sharon Grinder were married on September 16, 1978. In 1980, they took their first senior pastorate assignment in Wilmington, California. They have pastored churches in Chula Vista and Los Osos, California. David became pastor of the Medford Church of the Nazarene on September 14, 2003.
David’s philosophy of ministry consists of three priories. They are: his personal relationship with God, proclamation of the Word of God, and investing in people through equipping and encouragement. David is an adjunct professor at the Nazarene Bible College and has taught on their online program for over 10 years. They have two daughters, April, who is 27 years old and lives in Southern California, and Amanda, who is 11 years old.
